Her Story

Sedef Ünlü is passionate about painting, a passion that has shaped both her life and artistic expression. At the age of twelve, she received her first oil paintings from her father, an experience that sparked a lifelong journey in art. Since then, oil painting has become a central thread, both in her everyday life and creative process.

Alongside her full-time career as a legal counsel specializing in corporate law, Sedef Ünlü dedicates her free time to her artistry. She is a self-taught oil painter, having taken only a handful of evening courses to deepen her technical skills. In her work, she finds complete freedom to express herself as she feels and wishes.

Many of her pieces are inspired by visions from meditation, images shaped by everyday moments in nature. In addition to her own themes, she also accepts commissions, creating personalized artworks always characterized by the same emotional depth and sensitivity.

Through her paintings, Sedef Ünlü strives to contribute to a more beautiful and contemplative world, a passion that is evident in every brushstroke.

Artistic Philosophy

“I paint meditative landscapes; abstract realms where vibrant color and dramatic light invite peace and a gentle, quiet intensity.”

Her work is a slow return to what already is: a horizon, a pause, the moment a room grows quiet. Nothing is added that does not need to be there.

Creative Process

The artist with a finished canvas

Early mornings before work, late afternoons after work, and long hours on weekends. Layer over layer, until a painting begins to hold its own light.

A painting is finished only when its emotions reach the artist. When the connection between them brings a quietness that can be felt in the space around, as if both painting and artist share a silent understanding.
